| Overlay: NBA Basketball (Original) Mattel version overlay
with NBA Logo
Item Number: 2615-4289
Copyrights: Mattel Inc. 1979. Printed in
U.S.A.
Description: The original overlay for the NBA
Basketball game had the "NBA" logo on the heading. These are
now nearly non-existant! To add, the back court
color seemed to be a dirty-blonde color. The court lines are
all in white with black outlines. |
Overlay: Basketball (Revised)
U.S.A. version overlay
Item Number: 2615-4289(A)
Copyrights: Mattel Inc. 1979. Printed in
U.S.A.
Description: The revised version of the NBA Basketball
game overlay is very different than the original. To
start, it is completely void of the NBA logo! Mattel
probably did not want to pay for the trademark anymore. The
color also seems to have changed to a lighter yellow as well.
This version is printed in the
U.S.A. |
Overlay: Basketball (Revised) Hong Kong version
overlay
Item Number: 2615-4289(A)
Copyrights: Mattel Inc. 1979. Printed in Hong
Kong
Description: The Hong Kong revised version of the
Basketball overlay is similar to the U.S.A. version.
Other than the differences in printing locations, the white
court lines are missing. They do still have the black bordrs
though. Item number is the same as the U.S.A.
version. |

Overlay: Basketball Mattel (No Copyright) version
overlay
Item Number: 2615-4289(A)
Copyrights: None
Description: The "No Copyright" overlays were made for
games near the end of the Intellivision's era. They were made
for the Intellivision Inc. games that were the last to be
produced. The copyrights were pulled because the
ownership of the company seemed to be changing hands so
often. The overlays were still made on plastic,
but had a darker color court on them. Item number
remained the same. |
Overlay: Basketball Mattel (Yellow Paper) version
overlay
Item Number: 2615
Copyrights: None
Description: When Intellivision Inc. wanted to cut
costs, they figured they would do so with the overlays of
their games. They switched from the regular plastic overlays
to a lame 2-toned paper one. These were printed
in blue & yellow, on a thin cardboard paper. It
wasn't long after this when they did away with overlays all
together. The Yellow overlays are the rarest of the
Intellivision overlays. |
Overlay: Basketball(Digimed)
version overlay
Item Number: (None)
Copyrights: None
Description: The Digimed & Digiplay overlays have
proved to be the hardest to find for Intellivision collectors.
The Basketball overlay made in Brazilian Portuguese has been
the hardest for me to get thus far! I have just acquired
it. The text is in Brazilian Portuguese. Color is
dark, much like the "No Copyright" overlay. Overlay is made on
a laminated paper. There are no item
numbers. |
