| Overlay: Major League Baseball Mattel original version overlay
(with MLB official logo)
Item Number: 2614-4289
Copyrights: Mattel Inc. 1979. Printed in
U.S.A.
Description: The original MLB baseball overlay is the
rarest. It was probably only in the baseball games less than
the first year of their manufacturing. Notice that the
originals had the official MLB licensed logo on the
heading! Also, the copyright & the item number
location is reversed. It was the only overlay in which
this was done. |
Overlay: Baseball
Mattel overlay (A)
(white text)
version
Item Number: 2614-4289
(A)
Copyrights: Mattel Inc. 1979. Printed in
U.S.A.
Description: The revision (A) version of the MLB game
overlays have some changes. Notice the color change. Mattel
decided to go to a more pleasing lighter color for the grass
& infield. Also, they went to the regular positions
for the copyright & item number. The final difference is
that the official MLB logo has been removed. I guess Mattel
didn't want to pay for the rights
anymore. |

Overlay: Baseball
Mattel overlay (A) (black
text) version
Item Number: 2614-4289
(A)
Copyrights: Mattel Inc. 1979. Printed in
U.S.A.
Description: This different version of the MLB
baseball overlay has been printed in an even lighter color
background. It has the same item number as the regular
revision (A), with one difference. The item number is in black
instead of white! |
Overlay: Baseball
Mattel overlay (A) (No Copyright)
version
Item Number: 2614-4289
(A)
Copyrights: None
Description: The overlay found in the Intellivision
Inc. games have been printed without copyrights. For legal
reasons, all copyrights from Mattel had to be deleted. Another
variant in this overlay is the infield color. They went to a
dark brown for some reason. The item number remains in white
text. |
