Hidden Game Overlay
set
When Intellivision
game programmers designed certain games, they added hidden games to
the game carts. You could press a series of numbers on a regular
game, & a different game title would pop up! Cool! This was
unknown to the public for many years. Normally, just the programmer
and a few others would know about these games. Over time, word is
passed how to get to these games. There are two that can be played,
if you know how to get to them. This overlay set covers both of
them! Included with the overlays are directions to the games,
what carts you will find them in, & how to get to them!
Below you will see pictures of the two hidden games, as well as a
peek of the overlays!
Deadly Dogs!
"Deadly Dogs!" is hidden inside one of the late
Intellivision games. It is basically TRON Deadly Discs -Gone
Mad! Instead of using the normal "running man", you will
have to fend off enemies using the hotdog from the game,
"Burgertime". Throw your disc at the hotdogs, & watch out
for the milkshakes! If you've never seen it, it's pretty
cool.
METEOR
"METEOR" is a hidden game that is very hard to get
to. It plays much like the arcade game "Asteroids". You can thrust
your space craft in any direction, turn 360 degrees, & even
hyperspace! Shoot the meteors with single shots, or use the
continuous shot mode. The first time I tried getting this game
to come up, it took me over an hour!
As of right now, these are the only two games that are
known to exist inside pre-existing game carts. There are all sorts
of other easter eggs that can be accessed. If you want to look for
them, check out these two great Intellivision sites!
INTV Funhouse - "One of my
favorites! Full of great info, & nicely set up. Chances are, if
you cannot find the information here, you won't be able to find it
anywhere!" It is a great place to go to learn about the
Intellivision system and all things Intellivision.
Intellivision Lives!
(Blue Sky Rangers) The official Intellivision site- "Another
excellent site. Put together by the original Intellivision
programmers, the "Blue Sky Rangers". Full of info, pictures,
downloadable games, history, game lists, &
merchandise." |
