Digiplay System II
(#5872)
The Digiplay system II, which is
referred to as the 5872 system, is very interesting. It can be
played on t.v.'s in the United States. This is unlike the original
Digimed system 5368. The Digiplay 5872 system has the Digiplay logo
on the left side of the front band, and the Portuguese text at the
right side. I tried this system out a few years ago & thought it
would not work on t.v.'s in the U.S. Well, I was wrong.
It turns out they can be used,.... just not in color. Since
television sets in South America are run on a different set of
frequencies, the picture cannot be fully tuned in. I am told
by a Brazilian collector, that if you can fine tune the frequencies
on the t.v., you can get the picture in color. All of the Digiplay
games that I have tested will play on a console in the U.S. as well
as the Digiplay systems.

Digimed System
(#5368)
The Digimed system 5368 is
modeled after the U.S. version 2609 unit. Other than the Portuguese
text on the gold panel, it looks identical! The system uses a
(PAL) power source, so it cannot be used through outlets in the
United States. I am told that an adapter can be used, but I am
unsure of this.

Digimed 5368 (PAL)
system
I received the 5368 system a while ago, and have been
searching for a Digiplay voice synthesis unit ever since. I am
unsure if one even exists since Digiplay never came out with any
games for it. A collector in South America has revealed to me that
he did see one a while back.
